In the summer the so-called ‘wild expulsions’ broke out. Former prisoners, who suffered badly under the Nazis, went on raids and drove out Germans. The Russians from the camps created havoc. They mistreated and robbed the Germans and barely gave them time to pack their things and then took their homes.
