They weren’t allowed to sell us anything, but if we put money on the table they asked us: ‘What do you want?'
There were conditions of employment for Jewish men in camps, who were unemployed; the most important point was that the pay had to be 20% less than that of Aryans: ‘dagegen soll der Jude alle Leistungen an die Heidemaatschappij 100% zahlen’.
