Description of the camp
Flossenbürg concentration camp
9 februari -20 maart 1945
Flossenbürg was the worst camp that I experienced, everything consisted of beatings.
The prisoners were put up in sixteen wooden barracks. Because the camp was built on the slopes of the valley, terraces had to be cut out of the hard (granite) subsoil. Practically all the buildings in the camp, including those of the SS guards, were made of wood. Only a few buildings were made of stone: the ‘Kommandantur’, the laundry, the kitchen, the crematorium, the casino, the prison, and all the watchtowers.
