AJC Socialism
Amsterdam, Youth
1933
We were socialist in our thinking, you can never take that away.
In 1933 a “General Uniform Prohibition” was proclaimed in the Netherlands in order to prevent members of the WA [Weerafdeling - uniformed but unarmed defense section of the Dutch National Socialist movement] and the NSB [National Socialistische beweging - Dutch Nazi party] from wearing uniforms. But the red neckerchief also fell under this prohibition. The AJC organized a meeting in the Carré Theater in Amsterdam during which all Red Falcons took off their red neckerchiefs at the same time.
