I sat in the corner of an attic and learned how to make stitches and how to hold a needle.
The ‘lean years’ were approaching. There were a lot of unemployed. The Netherlands was in the depression. It was difficult for Coen to get work. Through an acquaintance he ended up as a tailor and learned the tricks of the trade in different workplaces.
