They wanted to show that they could get that boy, that little Jew, down.

At the Obi school, in the neighborhood where Coenraad Rood lived after the slum clearance of the inner city, he ended up in a class where he was the only Jew. He was the butt of harassment, but his mother gave him sage advice.
