Wibe Hylkema, living in Friesland, was Coenraad Rood’s best friend. They met initially in the AJC [Arbeiders Jeugd Centrale – Workers Youth Center] when, at a very young age, they were leaders in a children’s camp. Their friendship was for life. Wibe became a minister, and when Coen came back after the war, they sought each other out. They had animated discussions about faith.
